Slack Alerts

Post a formatted Slack message to your team whenever an identified company matches an alert rule.

Reflects product behavior as of August 2026.

Alert rules notify your team when an identified company does something worth acting on. Each rule pairs one trigger with delivery channels: Slack, email, or a webhook. This page covers Slack delivery.

Slack delivery uses a standard incoming webhook URL from your Slack workspace. You do not install a Slack app and you do not grant OAuth access; you paste one URL into the rule.

The most common rule is the pricing page play: a page visit trigger on /pricing* posting to #sales, so your team gets pinged when an identified company hits the pricing page.

Before you start

  • The VisiLead tracking script installed and verified on your site.
  • Permission to create an incoming webhook in your Slack workspace.
  1. 1

    Create a Slack incoming webhook

Go to api.slack.com/messaging/webhooks and create an incoming webhook for the channel that should receive alerts, such as #sales. Slack generates a URL that starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/. Copy it. No Slack app install or OAuth grant is required.

  2. 2

    Open the alert builder

In VisiLead, go to Dashboard > Alerts > New alert and give the rule a clear name. The rule name appears in every alert message.

  3. 3

    Pick a trigger

Choose one of three triggers: page visit (an exact path or a trailing * wildcard, such as /pricing*), repeat visit (fires when a company reaches a total visit count you set, minimum 2), or ICP score threshold (fires when a company's ICP score reaches a value you set between 0 and 100).

  4. 4

Add Slack as the delivery channel

Select Slack and paste the incoming webhook URL. Each rule supports three delivery channels: Slack, email, and webhook, so you can add an email recipient or a webhook endpoint on the same rule.

  5. 5

    Send a test alert

Click Send test. VisiLead posts a sample alert for Acme Corporation with ICP score 92 and page /pricing to your channel so you can verify the wiring before saving.

  6. 6

    Save the rule

Save. From now on, each matching visit posts a formatted message with the rule name, company, domain, ICP score, location, and source.

The pricing page play

Create a rule with the page visit trigger, the path /pricing*, and Slack delivery to #sales. Your sales team gets pinged whenever an identified company lands on the pricing page.

Alerts fire per matching visit

There is no digest or dedup mode today. A very active company can trigger the same rule more than once in a day, so choose paths and thresholds accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

How do you set up Slack alerts for identified companies?+

Create an incoming webhook in Slack at api.slack.com/messaging/webhooks, then in VisiLead go to Dashboard > Alerts > New alert, pick a trigger, paste the webhook URL as the Slack delivery channel, click Send test, and save. No Slack app install or OAuth is needed.

How do I implement pricing page visit alerts for sales?+

Create an alert rule with the page visit trigger and the path /pricing*, then deliver it to your #sales Slack channel. Each alert names the company, its domain, ICP score, location, and source.

How do I set up alerting when pricing page visits spike?+

Use a repeat visit trigger so the rule fires only when a company reaches a total visit count you set (2 or more), or an ICP score threshold to alert only on strong fits. There is no digest mode, so a plain page visit rule alerts on every matching visit.

Do I need to install a Slack app or grant OAuth access?+

No. Slack delivery uses a standard incoming webhook URL. You create the webhook in your Slack workspace, choose its channel there, and paste the URL into the VisiLead rule.

Will one company trigger the same alert more than once?+

Yes, it can. Alerts fire per matching visit and there is no dedup or digest mode today, so an active company can trigger a rule several times in one day.

What does the Slack alert message contain?+

The rule name, the company name and domain, its ICP score, its location, and the traffic source, posted as a formatted Slack message.

Can I get alerts by email instead of Slack?+

Yes. Enter a recipient such as sales@yourcompany.com and alerts arrive with the subject [VisiLead] rule name - company. Webhook delivery to your own endpoint is also available.
